CPI announces its candidates

The Communist Party of India (CPI), Manipur State Council has announced the first list of its recommended candidates for the 10th State Assembly election which is scheduled to be held on January 28, 2012 .
Names of 19 candidates were announced today at its office at Irabot Bhawan.
Included among other in the list of candidates are, Agriculture Minister Ph Parijat and MLA N Mangi.
The remaining candidates include Dr M Nara in 34-Wangjing Tentha, M Sakhi in 18-Konthoujam, A Lala in 4-Kshetrigao, RK Amusana, 3-Khurai, N Singhajit in 20-Langthabal,Tunzalian Lianpu in 56-Thanlon, Naorem Achouba in 37-Kakching, Laishram Premchandra in 1-Khundrakpam, Ph Irabot in 12-Patsoi, Dr Y Redheshyam in 38-Hiyanglam, Ph Pakchao in 17-Lamshang, O Malesh in 21-Naoriya Pakhanglakpa, Dr Y Mani in 7-Andro, Hiekham Dingo in 16-Sekmai, M Jayanta Kumar in 5-Thongju, Y Jiban in 39-Sugnu and M Asnikumar in 28-Thanga.Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Nara, State Secretary and National Council member, CPI, said that the CPI will not form any alliance with any other political party, it will contest the election on its own.
But since none of the political parties in the state will secure an absolute majority in the polls, there will certainly be a coalition government in the next term as well and the CPI will be among the parties in the coalition and form the government.
He said that the CPI is trying to bring about a peaceful solution to the prevailing extremist problems in the state.
Even though U Deven is an MLA of CPI, he has been disqualified from the Party on the grounds of corruption on October 6 last.
MLA N Mangi also stated that the party will go for post poll alliance and be a part in the formation of a government in the state.
It will work for the removal of the AFSPA and the territorial integrity of Manipur will be safeguarded.
