Mukul assures all assistance in welfare works for underprivileged

Mukul Wasnik assured that the welfare programmes for the under privileged sections of the society will be expedited.
The Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment said this while winding up his two-day visit to Imphal on Saturday.
Mukul Wasnik visited the government-run Deaf and Mute School in Imphal today.
"My ministry is ready to provide all requirements needed in expedition of implementation of all Centre sponsored schemes in the state under his ministry," the Union minister said.
Mukul Wasnik said, "It is the duty of my ministry to outreach the underprivileged sections of the society, to achieve this end there is the need to create more awareness about the various central schemes related to drug abuse and rehabilitation, welfare for senior citizens and persons with disabilities being implemented in the state.
The Union minister added that he had held consultations with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh to provide beneficiaries of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) to the Deaf and Mute School in the state.
He will send officials of his ministry to the state to find out areas which could be touched by the SSA scheme.
Mukul Wasnik, while expressing the need for a more transparent and efficient manner in the implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes, said that the implementing agency (Social Welfare Department) should ensure that benefits of these schemes reach the people.
Concluding his two-day visit, Mukul and his entourage of officials of the Social Justice and Empowerment ministry left Imphal this afternoon for New Delhi.
