Quit notice creates unrest among CCpur Meeteis

People of Meetei community residing in Churachandpur district are feeling insecure after some unknown miscreants served quit notice on Monday and a hotel run by a Meetei was burnt down today morning.
According to Meetei villagers in Churachandpur, the quit notices written by marker were served on Monday.
The quit notices, however, did not bear the name of any organisation nor was written on any letterhead.
"We will kill you day by day, Meetei...", "If you love your sister, Go Back", If you love your life, Go Back", Go Back Meetei from ...Land" and many strong threats were found written on the quit notices.
Subsequently to the quit notices, a joint meeting of Kuki leaders and Meeteis was held during which the Kuki leaders clarified that there was no such act from their side and the tension cool down.
However, situation became tense again after a hotel called Khelemba Hotel run by N Opendrajit was burnt down by unknown persons early morning today.
Fortunately, the alerted local people noticed the fire in time and save the hotel from further damage.
Some employees of the hotel were also sleeping inside when it was torched.
Following the quit notice and the burning of the hotel, Meeteis residing in Churachandpur are now feeling a sense of insecurity even in their home.
Meetei Society, Churachandpur has lodged a complaint with the concerned Police Station.
SP, Churachandpur also had joint meeting with the leaders of various communities living in the district and discussed the matter today.
Security measures have also been stepped up in Churachandpur town to avoid any unwanted incidents.
