Various Sadar Hills based Kuki bodies have warned of launching intense agitation unless two abducted men from Nongpok Keithelmanbi were released within two days.
Addressing a press meet today at Manipur Press Club, C Haokip, president of Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills said two persons namely Seitinlal Kipgen and Tongsat Haokip disappeared from IB area of Nongpok Keithelmanbi on April 29 .
Lamenting that no tangible action has been taken up by the concerned authority even if a case was registered at the concerned PS, C Haokip urged the Government to act on the matter.
He also appealed the concerned group/individuals to release the duo on humanitarian ground while also appealing the authority concerned to trace the missing men.
Seitinlal Kipgen of Bongbal Kholen and Thongsat Haokip of Masemjang village in Churachandpur were reportedly abducted from Nongpok Keithelmanbi on April 29 .
Seitinlal runs a pharmacy at Nongpok Keithelmanbi for the last ten years while Thongsat went to Bongbal Kholen for carpentry work at the insistence of Seitinlal.
A mass sit in protest was also held against the abduction couple of days back at Nongpok Keithelmanbi which was participated by people of the area comprising 25 villages under the aegis of Chingmi-Tami Apunba Lup.
The press meet today was attended by representatives of Sadar Hills based Kuki Inpi, KSO, TSA and KWA.
