UNC takes issue to Delhi

The United Naga Council (UNC) has demanded the immediate intervention of Govt of India on the Silent village incident.
A memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister by the UNC urged for nullifying 144 CrPC imposed in disputed area following a Cabinet decision of the State Government after the incident on May 3 while also demanding the booking of the culprits involved in the incident.
The UNC also urged for replacement of State security force, who are posted at Silent village aftermath the arson incident, by Central security forces, either CRPF or AR.
The UNC representation also demanded immediate payment of compensation to the victims whose houses and properties destroyed by the assailants directly by the Centre, citing no trust and confidence in Manipur Government.
