Imphal, May 07 2013:
Zeliangrong Union (AMN) has extended monetary aid to the victims of May 3 outrage at Silent village during which 36 houses were torched by some people of neighbouring Seijang village.
ZU president Amu Kamei, general secretary K Pousalung and advisor R Chandra went to Silent village this afternoon and handed over a certain amount of money to the village chief.
Speaking there, Amu Kamei stated that the unfortunate incident happened because Seijang villagers lacked a little bit of self-control and understanding.

However, one should not think that all the people are violent or lack understanding capacity.
Asking the Silent village chief if any specific measures can be taken up so that Seijang and Silent can co-exist peacefully, Amu Kamei pledged that ZU would extend all possible assistance towards bringing a solution to the issue.
If every citizen is aware of the land related laws inscribed in the 9th Schedule of the Indian Constitution, such ugly incidents would not have happened, Amu Kamei added.
