Govt plans to stop further establishment of aided schools: Education Minister

A total of 327 appointment orders of Government Aided Schools were distributed today at Department of Education (Schools) campus, Lamphelpat.
The distribution function was graced by Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam as the chief guest.
The Minister stated that the total sanctioned post is 1,687 whereas; the total number of vacancies is 387.However, 327 appointment orders were given today which include 137 Graduate teachers, 168 Primary teachers, 9 Primary teachers (Hindi) and 13 Lower Division Clerks.
He also exhorted the teachers to perform their duty diligently in the days to come and maintain cordial relation with the students.
Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam has asserted that the State Government has plan to stop/prevent further establishment/inception of Government-aided schools in the State and approving all existing Government-aided schools into full-fledged Government schools.
He further informed that the process for implementation of the 6th Pay for the approved Government-aided schools teachers has reached to a progressive stage where only the State cabinet approval is awaiting for its fulfilment.
Further lauding the role taken by Government-aided schools in taking forward the education sector in the State, the Minister has also expressed sadness on the failure of the Government in certain matters relating to Government-aided schools like delay in disbursement of salaries for Government-aided school teachers.
While claiming that delay in submission of service books by teachers and pending related cases in Court have often created hindrances in the timely promotion of many deserving Government school teachers, Radheshyam appealed to all concerned to refrain from filing cases against petty matters arising between Government school teachers.
Stressing on the responsibilities of the teachers and roles in shaping the society, he asked all Government school teachers to adopt creativity while teaching and dealing students so that students will find classes more interesting, attractive and engaging during classes.
He further appealed to all the college teachers to reconsider their decision to refrain from taking exam duties in the graduate level semester examination, which begins tomorrow, while adding that the State Government will somehow manage to conduct the said exam without creating any disturbances.
Director of Education (S) Thokchom Kirankumar among others also attended the function as presidium member.
