JAC demands justice, threatens not to claim body

The JAC formed in connection with the death of one Md Baharuddin of Oinam Sawombung Dam Awang Leikai, has demanded justice concerning the death of Baharuddin, announcing that it will not claim the body of the deceased until and unless justice is delivered.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the JAC spokesperson Md Yunus Khan claimed that late Md Baharuddin (24) eloped with one Rajina (20) d/o Md Ashrad Ali of Phoubakchao Konungma.
However, before their marriage, some problems led to Rajina returning back to her maternal home, he said, alleging that during those periods, the woman often demanded money and items from late Baharuddin constantly.

In the morning of November 25, Baharuddin sold off his two wheelers for Rs 45,000 and took off to give the money to Rajina.
However, at around 2.30 pm, Baharuddin's family members were told through phone that he was rushed for treatment at Wangoi CHC Hospital after consuming poison, the spokesperson claimed adding that when his family reached the hospital, Baharuddin had died.
He continued that following the death, some problems ensued but ultimately an agreement was reached to let one of the JAC members be present during the post mortem of the deceased.
However, the JAC was not allowed to be present in the post mortem despite the agreement earlier, he alleged, demanding justice for the deceased.
The dead body of Baharuddin will not be claimed until and unless justice is delivered, he cautioned.
