Contribution of locals is key to development, says K Vashum

In order to bring development and take up initiatives for welfare, contribution and co-operation of the locals is key, said MLA Khashim Vashum.
He was speaking at the inauguration programme of Wungpam Library Hall at Challou village.
He cut the ribbon and inaugurated the library hall constructed under BADP 2017-2018 project.
The library was named after village Headman's only son.
Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that too much dependent on Government would not help bring sound development.
Contribution of people will help enhance work progress for development.
The MLA recalled the fateful story of Wungpam and said that he is among few youths of the area who hold Master's degree, a keen person in education and studies.
However due to his health condition, Wungpam could not further his higher studies, he said.
Khashim Vashum also donated Rs 20,000 for Wungpam Library Trust and urged the village youths to avail the benefit of having library in their village.
Meanwhile, the Headman of New Tusom VS Shangmayo urged the MLA to look into grievances of the villagers due to incomplete PMGSY road in the area.
K Vashum also distributed blankets to senior citizens, VAs and deacons and football to the village youths.
Later, MLA Khashim Vashum also attended a dedication programme of Marangphung Baptist Church Multi purpose hall at Marangphung village under Chingai sub-division.
The programme was attended by Ukhrul ADC Members Themreishang and Wezope, SDO Chingai Nimmi and Headmen from the neighbouring villages, religious leaders and Pastors.
