Observers review poll preparedness, interact with candidates

To ensure a free, fair, inclusive and inducement-free election in Bishnupur, Manish Aggarwal, IAS General Observer for Nambol, Oinam, Bishenpur ACs; Sahab Singh, General Observer for Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi; Sanjib Kumar Narzary, IPS Police Observer for Bishnupur; Akta Jain, IRS Expenditure Observer for Nambol, Oinam Bishenpur ACs and Mahesh G Jiwade, IRS Expenditure Observer for Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi ACs today interacted with the entire election teams of the district.
The interaction held at the conference hall in the DC complex was attended by DEO Bishnupur L Bikram, SP Bishnupur, ADC, AC to DC, ROs and District Nodal Officers.

During the meeting, the Election Observers shared their observations on the operational aspects of poll preparedness in the district concerning Expenditure Monitoring, functions of MCMC, activities of Flying Squad Teams, SUVIDHA application for candidates, law and order situation among others.
The Election Observers instructed all district election officials to maintain neutrality and provide a level playing field for all candidates for a free and fair election.
Earlier in the day, the Election Observers also interacted with candidates and their representatives.
Assuring equal opportunities, transparency and fairness to all candidates, the Election Observers appealed to all the candidates to win the confidence of the people within the legal provisions and guidelines laid down by Election Commission of India.
The Election Observers also assured candidates that they will always be available for any kinds of election-related grievances and feedback.
Meanwhile, with no candidates withdrawing their nomination by the deadline which ended today, the final number of candidates for the 6 constituencies in Bishnupur district remained unchanged at 22 .
Bishnupur district will go to polls on the revised first phase of polling on February 28 .
THOUBAL
The District Administration Thoubal along with Expenditure Observers of State Assembly Election 2022, today took stock of poll preparedness in Thoubal and Kakching Districts.
Manishkumar Gupta, IR & TAFS, Expenditure Observer of 30-Lilong, 31-Thoubal & 32- Wangkhem, Kapil Dev Meena, ICAS, Expenditure Observer for 33-Heirok, 34-Wangjing Tentha & 35 Khangabok and Dev Prakash Barmanavat, IRS (C&CE ), Expenditure Observer for 36 -Wabagai, 37-Kakching, 38-Hiyanglam & 39-Sugnoo visited Election Expenditure Monitoring Team of Thoubal and Kakching , Media Certification & Monitoring Committee and Election Control Team.
The team of Expenditure Observers were accompanied by A Subhash Singh, IAS, DEO/DC Thoubal and M Angam Kabui, MFS, TO, Thoubal.
It may be mentioned that election for the 10 Assembly Constituencies of Thoubal and Kakching districts will be conducted on March 5 as per revised schedule of Election Commission of India.
The Manipur Assembly elections will be held in two phases to elect the 60-member state Assembly.
The results will be out on March 10 .
