UBI's poor services irk customers

Imphal, July 14 2016:
Banking services of UBI Ukhrul Branch has
been not functioning for over a week due to poor
internet connection, reports Mungchan Zimik.
While the Manager of UBI blamed BSNL
network for the weak internet connection,
any alternative arrangement has not been
initiated despite numerous complaints.
Dearson of Halang village who is a cus-
tomer of UBI Ukhrul Branch spoke to this
correspondent about the inconveniences and
said that he has been waiting for 5 days so
that he could withdraw money.
The bank would shut after 12 noon on the
excuse that internet service is not available.
Due to the complaints, Ukhrul police and
leaders of Tangkhul social organizations
looked into the matter and was subsequently
learned that cable service provider
MUKANT has been stringing cable wire
beneath the earth and the machines used for
digging earth have damaged the BSNL wire.
No positive step has been taken up till
date and irate.
Demanding the authority concerned to
look into the matter, customers said they
could have to closed down their UBI accounts and open new ones in other banks.
