MPCB refutes AIMS's claim, clarifies

Manipur Pollution Control Board has refuted the claim of Apunba Ireipak Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) that there have been discrepancies in the management of funds under the National Green Corps (NGC) programme.
A statement of the MPCB today denied all charges and said that the allegation made by the AIMS is false and baseless.
There is no discrepancies and MPCB has never misused the funds of the NGC programme, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
MPCB is a nodal agency of NGC.
Due to non availability of funds in the FYs -2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17, MPCB didn't received any grant-in-aid, clarified the statement issued by Khumanthem Tomba Singh, Officer in-charge, Eco-Club Programme, MPCB.
However, in the FY 2017-18, MPCB received grant-in-aid of Rs 2,19,45,000 (including Administrative charges) .
4,000 schools and 100 colleges were given aid worth Rs 5,000 (cheque of Rs 3,000 plus 60 litres capacity Blue bin and Green bin) each through District Implementation and Monitoring Committees (DIMCs), said MPCB.
The cheque of Rs 3,000 each given to the schools and colleges were for various activities including cleanliness drive, tree plantation, celebration of Environment Day, refreshment, banners etc, added the MPCB.
The scheme doesn't cover hospitals, clarified the MPCB and added that additional cheque of Rs 25,000 each were allotted to the Member Secretaries, DIMCs to implement and monitor the scheme.
