Imphal, June 21 2012:
"Diminising cultivable land is not a good sign and we need to save the existing arable lands of the state and bring about a Green Revolution, which is the need of the hour", exclaimed Home Minister Gaikhangam, who is also the President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) .
He was speaking on the occasion of felicitation cum Fruit saplings distribution function hosted in honour of re-elected MLAs associated with Kishan Khet Mazdoor Congress (KKMC) at Pisgah Bhawan, Palace View, Imphal East.
The function was organised by KKMC.
Gaikhangam stated that we need to protect our agricultural lands and stand together for a cause.
We also need to develop a work culture in the state at all cost.

Apart from this, there are also various cells established by the Congress for the said purpose.
Gaikhangam further pointed out that if there are no agricultural products and no other production as such in the state, it would be no better and could be compared to a home without a foundation.
So, we need to produce whatever we can and achieve self reliance.
Preshaw Shimray, MLA of Chingai A/C, who was also present on the occasion, said that knowing the importance and benefits of Kishan Khet Mazdoor, the farmers of the state, both the hills and plains, have enrolled themselves in KKMC.
