Imphal, June 21 2012:
The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) has called off its proposed 48-hour bandh following assurance given by the Chief Minister to the KSO during a meeting today and consultation thereof with all the branches of KSO.
According to a statement issued by the Vice-President of KSO (GHQ), Mangcha Baite, the proposed bandh has been suspended for the time being but the decision to cease all construction activities within the KSO's premises of the disputed plot of land is still in effect.
The KSO had earlier announced the bandh from midnight of June 22 to protest the alleged encroachment of its office plot at Kabow Leikai.
