The Paomta Students' Union (PSU) alleged the department concerned of indifferent attitude and the State Government's negligence over the Tadubi, Tungjoy-Lai road.
According to statement of President R Hriinii, PSU he said that, the historical world war II road under the PWD department has been neglected and left unattended since the past ten years.
He further added that the road which connects to Ukhrul District through the NH-2 route from Tadubi towards Paomata, Tungjoy and Laii, is the lifeline to the remote 40 villages.
The deplorable road condition has triggered unprecedented public outcry and it also has a reliable report of plying more than 80 to 100 vehicles each day along the road, the statement said.
The PSU urged the State government through the intervention of the District Administration and State Works Minister and the department concerned to immediately address the negligible road condtion.
The Union further warned of organizing its own course of democratic agitation if the appeal is not considered at the earliest.
