"Thambal Campaign" kicks off in Andro

In a bid to strengthen Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Andro Assembly Constituency, former Minister for Forest, Thounaojam Shyamkumar today kicked off "Thambal Campaign" at his residence at Ngariyan Chingkhong.
As a part of the campaign inauguration, the former Minister along with BJP Yuva Morcha president Manoharmayum Barish Sharma, volunteers of BJYM Andro Mandal, BJP Mahila Morcha and functionaries of Development Organisation Andro Kendra (DOAK) conducted a rally towards Angtha village and stick party symbol posters in walls of households of the area.
Speaking on the sidelines, Th Shyamkumar said that tremendous development and peace have been achieved in India and Manipur in particular, under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The campaign was being launched in the face of the State Assembly election slated to be held in the early part of the next year and to highlight a number of progresses made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren Singh to the people, he said.
The former Minister also expressed elation over a large number of volunteers turning up and joining him in the campaign and thanked locals of Angtha for approving them to stick posters and spray to imprint "Lotus Symbol" of the saffron party.
In view of the overwhelming support the party has been receiving, he expressed confidence that BJP will surely emerge strongest and victorious in the Andro Assembly segment.
While highlighting State Government's outreach programmes in hills and villages, welfare schemes and development programmes, he said that the development and welfare programmes have impacted and reached every nook and corner of the State.
As such, admiration towards the leading party in the Government-BJP is growing rapidly and thus it is very sure that the party will surely get an absolute majority and retain power after the upcoming State Assembly election, he added.
