MLA Nemcha scans Irang projects, distributes rice

People of Irang area in Kangpokpi AC jovially greeted MLA Nemcha Kipgen on her visit to the area to inspect various development works and distribute free rice provided by the Central government.
The MLA accompanied by BJP Kangpokpi Mandal president Tingnei Lhouvum visited 9 Mile Poudel Basti and distributed the last free rice allotted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also interacted with the people.
She then headed to 12 Mile, Chuchekhop, Manedara and Lamchok villages in Irang Part-I where she distributed the free rice and took stock of the people's hardships and grievances, and also inspected various development works undertaken in the area.
Nemcha Kipgen was visibly delighted to witness proper road connectivity, almost 100 percent power and drinking water connection, apart from school building and toilet of Lamchok Primary School at Lamchok.
People of Irang area raised slogans such as "Long Live Narendra Modi", "Long Live BJP", and " Long Live Nemcha" , to show gratitude to the Prime Minister for providing free rice from April 2020 ever since the Covid-19 pandemic began and the sincerity and commitment of the local MLA in ensuring the benefits reach all the beneficiaries even in the remotest part of her constituency.
Nemcha was warmly welcomed at Panikhetti in Irang Part-II where a simple function was held to give thanks to the Prime Minister and the local MLA for the free rice and mainly for various development works undertaken by the MLA in the area.
Diliram Bhattarai, on behalf of the people of Irang area, thanked the MLA her for her commitment to develop the far-flung Irang area.
He pointed out that once the Irang area looked like as if it was in a dark age as there were no road, no electricity, no proper drinking water, and education was also at its worst condition but now the local MLA has transformed the area.
Diliram further pointed out that the school was constructed with attached toilets and examination centres for HSLC candidates were provided at T Waichong, easing the hardships faced by hundreds of students in appearing HSLC exam at Kangpokpi town.
"Irang area in Kangpokpi AC has started to witness development within 4/5 years under the leadership of local MLA Nemcha Kipgen and we are extremely fortunate to have such a committed and sincere leader," he added.
The simple function was attended by-chiefs and chairmen of various Kuki, Naga and Gorkha villages located within Irang part I and Part II and also from the remotest Makui village.
One of the leaders from Makui village pointed out that roads have been constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), electricity provided under Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana and water-supply under Jal Jeevan Mission in the area and people could finally enjoy the benefits from the government through the local MLA.
"Despite the main road (Imphal-Tamenglong), one of the state's oldest highways at its worst condition, almost all the entire villages in the Irang area have now been connected with well-constructed blacktop road under PMGSY," he added.
In her address, Nemcha said: "I am truly happy to witness people of Makui area, Naga Tapon, Wakotphai area and from various Gorkha areas displaying unity because development could only take place when there is unity among us".
She also assured that development works yet to be completed will be materialised at the earliest if the people vote her and the BJP comes into power in the upcoming election.
Nemcha also said that people of Irang area should convey gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government for their sincere commitment to develop the area.
Meanwhile, booth level meeting and enrolment of members was also held after the function under the aegis of BJP Kangpokpi Mandal led by its president Tingnei Lhouvum at Panikhetti.
Nemcha Kipgen distributed the last free rice provided by the Prime Minister along with the free bags she has sponsored for the beneficiaries.
