Sit in protests CM's 'false promise'

Imphal, November 14 2021:
Unhappy over the failure of chief minister N Biren to fulfil the assurances given for resolving the issue of artificial pollution, Save Environment and Pollution Control Committee (SEAPCC) and Tingri Youth Development Association jointly staged a sit-in protest at Tingri Lamkhai on Sunday.
In a release, SEAPCC president Ch Joykumar informed that they complained to chief minister N Biren about the pollution caused by burning of coals in private stone crushers, brick fields set up in and around Tingri, Awang Wabagai, Potsangbam Khullen and Leikinthabi and keystone infra private limited (Tingri Lamkhai).
The CM assured of shutting down illegal stone crushers and to shift the activities causing pollution and directly affected the people within three months, he recalled.
Statingthat the protest was launched as the CM failed to fulfil his assurance, Joykumar cautioned of taking recourse to more intense form of protests if activities Causing pollution is not restricted in the area.
