Chief Minister N Biren has urged all the intending candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to commence serving the people in view of the forthcoming State Assembly election.

At the conference organised by BJP Patsoi Mandal, the Chief Minister continued that the BJP would surely give its tickets to the candidates who are closest to the people.
Further urging all the intending candidates of the party to compete on reaching out to the people most and provide them the benefits of Government schemes, N Biren exuded confidence that the BJP candidate of Patsoi AC would surely win the election and play a key role in the Government formation.
He also stated that Patsoi AC lacks behind in developmental aspects as compared to other constituencies due to election of an incompetent representative in the previous election.
"Impressive speeches have no place in politics," he added.
Only about 20 percent of the politicians here might be aware of the situation prevailing in Manipur today, the Chief Minister said.
He also claimed that no bridges were constructed along the Imphal-Jiribam road in the 15 years tenure of the Congress Government.
Saying that there is an issue of unavailability of drinking water at Patsoi, N Biren reiterated that electing a non committed representative is the root cause of this issue.
To build a healthy society, ensuring basic amenities such as health care facilities, food and proper houses are crucial, he maintained and added that the State Government has provided tape water facilities to 64 percent of its population under a certain scheme and distributed health cards to many others.
The Government has also launched the Chief Minister's Health for All scheme , he said.
Continuing that the State is moving forward, the Chief Minister said that people no longer support bandh and blockade in Manipur.
He also said that the relationship between the Government and the people has improved considerably with the coming of the BJP Government at both the Centre and the State.
