CM pays last respect to slain soldiers

Imphal, November 14 2021:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh led others in paying last respect to the Assam Rifles soldiers who were killed in an ambush at Sehken village, Singhat sub-division, Churachandpur district yesterday.
The Chief Minister led top police and military officers in laying wreaths on the mortal remains of the martyrs of 46 Assam Rifles at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the ceremony, N Biren strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Assam Rifles convoy that happened yesterday.
He shared his deepest condolence and grief with the bereaved families.
He said that the Government would not tolerate such terrorist activities in the State.
The Chief Minister stated that he has instructed the Home Department and paramilitary forces to arrest and punish the perpetrators according to rule of law.
He also assured that the Government would strengthen security measures in the border areas of the State.
It may be mentioned that the Commanding Officer (CO) of 46 Assam Rifles (Khuga Battalion) Col Viplav Tripathi, his family and four Quick Reaction Team (QRT) personnel were slain in an ambush by militants yesterday.
