RNCM appeals Chief Minister

Rongmei Naga Council, Manipur (RNCM) has appealed to Chief Minister N Biren to take up the issue erroneous information about Rani Gaidinliu.
In a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister, RNCM said the erroneous suffix 'Zeliang' in the name of Rani Gaidinliu while instituting Nari Shakti Puraskar (Rani Gaidinliu Zeliang Award) by the Ministry of Women and Child Development was found.
"Rani Gaidinliu is called and known only as Rani Gaidinliu with no prefix and suffix.
'Zeliang' is the name of a tribe of Nagaland.
Rani Gaidinliu belonged to 'Rongmei' tribe of Manipur," RNCM said.
Rectification is also required in introduction part about Rani Gaidinliu in connection with Nari Shakti Puraskar.
Rani Gaidinliu's birth place is Luangkao (Nungkau), Tamenglong district and not Imphal.
The tribal leader of the Nagas mentioned in the introduction part is Haipou Jadonang and he was from Manipur, not Assam.
Lastly, the reformed religion mentioned as 'Herakpa' should be 'Heraka', RCNM said.
RNCM expressed hope that Chief Minister N Biren will take up the matter to the Ministry concerned.
