Vigilance awareness week observed at Kpi, Noney

Kpi/Noney, October 30 2017:
As observed in different Government offices, departments and public sectors across the State, Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi observed the "Vigilance Awareness Week" today .
With ‘My Vision � Corruption Free India’ as the theme, the observation was held at the conference hall of DC, Kangpokpi .
The Vigilance Awareness Week which will be observed from October 30 to November 4 will focus on the preventive measures to fight corruption, bring transparency and accountability in the functioning of the Government and also to sensitize citizens on the ill effects of corruption .
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi T Ranjit Singh stated that corruption is a deep rooted disease prevailing in our society .
He said that the general public should understand their responsibilities and contribute in making a corruption-free society .
T Ranjit further stated that although it is difficult to eradicate corruption completely, we should always stand together and fight to prevent the trend.The people at the grass-root level should be thoroughly sensitised regarding the topic .
"The fight against corruption must start from our home", he added.
A pledge taking ceremony was also held under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi .
During the observance, the DC also read out the message given by the President of India, regarding the observation of awareness week.Officials and staff of various Government departments in the district took part in the function .
Meanwhile, the vigilance observation week also kick started at Noney district today.
The Deputy Commissioner H Worshang stressed on the impacts of corruption stating that the trend or unethical conduct has affected the people as well as the general system of development which can be seen in remote areas of the State .
Corruption has hindered the progress of development and improvement, he asserted.
With the coming of the new Government, the initiative to pull out the roots of corruption should be welcomed and supported by all .
Later, an integrity pledge was also administered by the DC .
During an interaction programme, the DC along with the participants deliberated on the rise of road mishaps along NH 37 and discussed the necessary steps to be taken up jointly by the district administration, police and civil organisations .
NH in-charge Additional SP M Luikam stated that the dilapidated condition of Imphal-Jiri road, despite being a highway, has caused immeasurable accidents and mishaps.The divers should also take caution of the road condition, he added .
He also highlighted the need to put signal, sign boards and milestone etc .
SDOs, DLOs, village leaders and civil organisation leaders also attended the observation.
