No separate council : AMUCO

Referring to the likely logical conclusion of the peace talks between NSCN (IM) and Government of India, president of All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO), Ph Deban has stated that people of the State would not accept formation of a separate council or administrative body that would threaten the territorial integrity of the State.
He was addressing the 1st death anniversary observance of Thounaojam Iboyaima organised by Pabung Iboyaima Memorial Trust at Nupi Lan Complex yesterday .
A memorial lecture on the views and thoughts of the renowned social worker was also conducted .
The programme was attended by president, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, L Memchoubi; president, Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland), Amu Kamei; president, Kuki Inpi, Thangkhosei Haokip and president, All Manipur Muslim Development Organisation, DP Sahid Ahmad as presidium members .
Ph Deban who is also the convenor of Pabung Iboyaima Memorial Trust pointed out that formation of a separate council or administrative body for Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Assam as the final conclusion of the peace talks would pave the way for disintegration of the State .
He stated that contents of the Framework Agreement signed between NSCN (IM) and GoI on August 3, 2015 are yet to be made public .
This implies that the agreement has put the territorial integrity of the State at stake just to appease a particular group, he remarked .

He recalled that Thounaojam Iboyaima as a social worker had worked relentlessly for unity and peaceful co-existence amongst the different communities of the State .
Floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Th Iboyaima as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
