Nemcha assures adequate manpower for Govt Deaf & Mute School

Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen has assured that the shortage of teaching staff of Government Deaf & Mute School, Takyel will be looked into .
Gracing the the 33rd foundation day celebration of the the school as chief guest, Nemcha Kipgen said that Social Welfare Department is making efforts in coordination with other line Departments to convert the various provisions of the Rights of Persons With Disabilities Act, 2016 into action .
She called upon the concerned authority to come forward with their grievances to ensure best opportunities for the welfare of differently abled persons .
She cited the example of famous personalities like Helen Keller and Sudha Chandran to encourage the students to come forward and showcase their hidden talents to all in order to prove their unique identity .
The Minister also lauded the teachers of the school for imparting valuable lessons with an indomitable spirit so that the students could boost their self-confidence to become a successful citizen .
Dr RK Kumarjit Singh, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, who presided over the function exhorted students of the school to excel in education to become distinguished individuals in life .
Surrender A Shishak, Joint Director, Social Welfare and N Kalpana Devi, headmistress of the school were present as guests of honour .
As part of the celebration, students who cleared the HSLC 2016 and 2017 and best teacher for the year 2017 were fecilitated by presenting with gifts and cash award .
Students of the school performed dance and songs in sign language.
