Kumbi Urban Development Committee (KUDC) has condemned the brutal killing of Zeliangrong Baudi leader Athuan Abonmai and said this unfortunate incident will serve as a deterrent to many social workers who genuinely wants to work for the welfare of the people.
KUDC said this in a statement issued today and appealed all the communities of the State to maintain peace and harmony and ensure that such incidents does not repeat in the future.
In another instance, Uripok Apunba Lup (UAL) visited the residence of the late Zeliangrong Baudi leader Athuan Abonmai at Langol Tarung today and extended unhindered support to all the initiatives taken up by JAC Against the Brutal Killing of late Athuan Abonmai.
If the Government does arrest and punish the culprits who were involved in the crime at the earliest, this will serve as a barrier in people from speaking the truth and showing their love for the State, said a statement issued by UAL.
UAL appealed all the CSOs, local clubs and organisations of both the hills and valley to come together against such heinous crime keeping aside all the political differences and work together towards the betterment and development of the State as a whole.
Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) also condemned the brutal killing of Athuan Abonmai and expressed solidarity with all the communities in the stand for justice for Athuan Abonmai.
Athuan Abonmai was a public leader who was very vocal in strengthening the bond of brotherhood and harmony between various communities of the State and it is of outmost importance that Zeliangrong CSOs and other CSOs of the State come together to fulfill his last wish of getting cremated in the valley in case of his death, said a statement issued by KIMACS.
Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) also condemned the killing of Athuan Abonmai and extended support to the JAC form to bring justice.
