Three die, 210 infected, Kamjong logs 29pc TPR

Imphal, September 26 2021:
The state on Sunday reported three new fatalities along with 210 new positive cases out of 2970 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 7.07 per cent against Saturday's 7.55 per cent.
Though the overall positivity rate is only 7.07 per cent, Kamjong recorded 28.8 per cent positivity rate while Imphal West (9.1 per cent), Bishnupur (8.7 per cent), Imphal East (8.5 per cent) and Chandel (7.3 per cent) recorded high positivity rate.
The active caseload has risen to 2125 out of which 461 (21.69 per cent) are in home isolation, 644 (30.31 per cent) in CHICs, 624 (29.36 per cent) in CCCs and 396 (18.64 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 71 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 98 are on oxygen support and 25 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 171 patients.
On the other hand, there are five patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Sunday evening, 544 beds including 104 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Saturday evening 2856 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 378 beds (28 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 90,484 positive cases and 1472 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 5951 new cases and 64 fatalities out of which 1389 new cases and 15 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 210 new positive cases included 205 people (92 male & 113 female) from among the general population and 5 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were tested at RIMS (11), JNIMS (7) and other testing centres (192).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (41), Imphal West (104), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (9), Chandel (4), Senapati (1), Tengnoupal (2) and Kamjong (15) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The three fatalities reported in the last 24 hours were residents of Imphal West (1), Imphal East (1) and Ukhrul (l), and none of them had received Covid vaccines.
With the three fatalities, the cumulative number of deaths due to Covid-19 in the state has reached 1846 .
In the last 24 hours, 166 patients were discharged from home isolation (38), RIMS (3), JNIMS (5), CCCs (116) and CHICs (4) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,19,884 (general population - 1,15,609 and CAPF personnel - 4,275) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,15,913 (general population - 1,11,699 and CAPF personnel - 4,214) and number of active cases is 2,125 (general population - 2,069 and CAPF personnel - 56) .
The recovery rate is 96.69 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 827 D-type and 368 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
On Saturday, 9395 vaccine doses were administered which took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,19,435 which included 4,50,791 fully vaccinated people.
As of Saturday, 1,12,871 eligible people are yet to get the second dose of Covid vaccine.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (41,175), Imphal East (26,511), Thoubal (9317), Churachandpur (10,007), Kangpokpi (2744), Tamenglong (3255), Bishnupur (8985), Senapati (2191), Ukhrul (2699), Kakching (6337), Chandel (2273), Noney (1059), Tengnoupal (1035), Jiribam (1015), Kamjong (849), and Pherzawl (433) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (614), Imphal East (434), Thoubal (168), Churachandpur (157), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (186), Senapati (9), Ukhrul (33), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 38,635 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,109 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,16,069 tests per million population against the national average of 4,03,262 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2970 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 7.07 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.29 per cent.
