Dr Kishan murder case accused files bail plea

Imphal, September 26 2021:
NSCN-IM self-styled lieutenant colonel Hopson Ningshen, who had been arrested by CBI in connection with the murder of Dr Th Kishan and his two staff, has filed a bail application to the Supreme Court through his counsel.
On Monday, the SC heard the bail plea and observed that the case is currently not in the stage of discussing bail application.
However, the bail plea was discussed taking into account the petitioner has been jailed for 12 years.
As such, the Court directed the registry to instruct the High Court concerned to provide the original documents and carry out the necessary process within 4 weeks.
Then SDO of Kasom Khullen Dr Kishan (MCS) and his two subordinate staff, Token and Rajen, were abducted by NSCN-IM cadres led by Hopson Ningshen on February 13, 2009 from near Ukhrul DC office.
They were later found hacked to death near Taphou Kuki village along NH-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) on February 17, 2009 .
The state government had handed over the case to CBI.
Hopson Ningshen was arrested during the course of the investigation and has been in jail since then.
