Senapati, April 01 2015 :
The Hill Districts' Private Recognized Schools' Association, Manipur during a meeting of All Private Schools Association, Senapati with the Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) held at Senapati district headquarters, lamented the neglect of the hill district private schools by BOSEM and State Government despite the memorandum and representation submitted to the Chairman Secretary of BOSEM on November 12, 2014, the Hornbill Express reports.
The Association alleged that BOSEM continues to sideline the genuine issues of schools of the Hill districts despite repeated requests to supply textbooks for Elementary Manipuri (Roman Scripts), Oxford Computer Science and other text books which are not available in the market.
At the same time, issue of imposing late fine for submission and transfer cases have been raised to the authorities concerned without any positive response till date.
The private schools demanded the inclusion of Additional English in the BOSEM curriculum in the interest of the minority tribes as it has been in the past.
Resenting the indifference shown by the authorities concerned, Principals/Proprietors of hill district schools have decided to convene a general assembly on April 8 for further course of action.
The association further warned that in order to pursue quality education, the assembly might decide to set up separate board for the hills districts or go to CBSE or ICSE as neither the State Government nor the Board have deemed it necessary to attend to the problems faced by the hill district schools.
