Mission Indradhanush to be launched

Mission Indradhanush Immunisation Programme for Senapati District will be launched between April 7 and July this year.
The Government of India has identified 201 districts in the country for this special programme.
Mision Indradhanush aims to prevent seven childhood disease like DPT, OPV, BCG, HBV and Measles.
The main objective of the programme is to ensure that partially immunized children are fully immunized as per immunization schedule.
The programme targets children below 2 years and pregnant mothers.
It will mainly focus on the rural areas that have missed three or more consecutive routine immunization session and High Risk Area identified by polio eradication programme.
Meanwhile, the District Administration has appealed to people in remote village areas to co-operate with the team and informed that no family planning ingredients are added in the vaccines as many people have a wrong notion about the programme.
It may also be mentioned that avoiding such immunization programmes is also punishable under the law.
