ADC helps to keep Ukhrul town clean

Ukhrul, April 01 2015 :
Ukhrul District Autonomous Council, UADC, Ukhrul inaugurated a dumping site at Aso near old Cement factory Hundung today, Mungchan Zimik reports.
Joint secretary TA & Hills, Armstrong Pame unveiled the inauguration stone at the dumping site in the presence of CEO, ADC Ukhrul.
Speaking at the occasion, chief guest of the event Armstrong Pame highlighted the various programmes under the State Government towards a cleaner environment.
Through the ADC, two dustbins have been installed to collect domestic wastes separately - organic and inorganic, in separate dustbins.
The ADC further plans to recycle the waste or convert them into manure.
While calling for a collective effort from the people, Armstrong lauded ADC, Ukhrul for being the first district to have dumping and disposal sites.
He further maintained that if funds were available, more activities through the ADC, under small town committee, could be taken up.
CEO D Gangmei, during his speech at the occasion, announced the ADC, Ukhrul's purchase of a mobile ambulance and DI Tata for delivering services.

The dumping site was constructed under the support of John Raleng, Chairman of ADC, Ukhrul.
Worshang, SDO, Ukhrul, Ningreigam Leisan SDO, Steve Khapudang, SDO, HL Jain, SDO, P Ronald, SDO, L Misao, Additional SP, Semmi, SDPO along with leaders of social organizations attended the inauguration function at Aso Hundung, Ukhrul today.
