Imphal, April 01 2015 :
Proscribed RPF on Wednesday claimed its armed wing PLA eliminated four jawans of 44 Assam Rifles and wounded several others in an attack near Kamjong village of Ukhrul district around 5:10 am of March 31.One weaponNo-AE51-5050was seized from the AR team after the attack, a statement of Roben Khuman, secretary publicity, Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) further claimed.
RPF said the fatal assault was carried out by a team of 'Tactical Command' of People's Liberation Army (PLA).
'Sergeant' Prem of the outfit was killed in the operation, it said, adding sgt Prem, real name Okram Pari, was the son of late Okram Tomba and Okram (Ongbi) Radhe of Sagolmang Mamang Leikai.
It claimed that the attack on the 44 AR team was launched after information was received that they had been constantly causing disturbances and fear to passers in the area every day.
It has been revealed of late among the people especially the hill brethren that the 'devious attitude' of the Indian security forces is now no more acceptable to them, the statement said, adding India can never succeed in bamboozling the people.
RPF continued that the recent move of the SS Khaplang-led NSCN to launch attacks on Indian Army by abrogating the 14-year-old ceasefire pact inked between the outfit and Government of India was 'right.' PLA is always ready to fight against the Indian Army by uniting together all revolutionary groups including the NSCN based in 'West Asia,' RPF urged.
The outfit's 'chief of army staff' at the 'War Office' later hailed the team from the Tactical Command and others who had taken part in the attack on 44 AR team, the statement added.
