MHA Core Group to visit border areas on April 6

Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Core Group headed by Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) Chairman RN Ravi will be visiting the State to inspect whether or not there was effective policing along the Indo-Myanmar Border on April 6 .
The Group will be accompanied by MHA Joint Secretary (North East) Shambhu Singh and Joint Secretary (Border Management) HK Makwana.
The Group will be visiting Behiang, Churachandpur District; Samtal Ridgeline and Nampisha/Chassad, Ukhrul District.
According to the intimation received from the Centre, State Home Department has instructed the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of the districts to make necessary arrangements for the visit.
According to sources, the Core group will leave Imphal at 9:15 am for Behiang Churachandpur District by MHA helicopter and will arrive at 26 Assam Rifles (AR) Behiang.
At Behiang, the Core Group will be briefed by 26 AR commandant and hold interaction with troops and civil administration from 9:40 am to 10 am.
After this, the group will head for Ridge Post (Samtai Ridgeline) and later go to Nampisha (Chassad/Ukhrul district).
In both the places, the Group will hold interaction with troops and the civil administration after briefings by Commandants of 3 AR and 44 AR.
