Vaiphei bodies decry

Condemning the killing of Thanglallian Vaiphei of Salam Patong village by KNF (N) at point blank range in front of his wife and relatives yesterday in the strongest term, a joint meeting of Young Vaiphei Association, Jt Hqtrs, Vaiphei Peoples' Council (Eastern block) and Zillai, Eastern Block held today made several joint declarations which amongst others urged all Vaipheis to disassociate from any Kuki organisations.
As such, any individual belonging to the Vaiphei community who happens to be associated/connected with any Kuki organisations � KSO, Kuki Inpi, Kuki Chief Association, any UG group should withdraw his/her membership with immediate effect.
Individuals failing to comply with the directive will be socially boycotted, according to a joint statement signed by Zabiaksang Neilut, president YVA (Jt Hqtrs), Lamneithang Vaiphei, secretary, VPC (EB) and S Kamminlun Vaiphei, secretary, Zillai (EB).
The KNF (N) yesterday claimed that Thanglallian was awarded capital punishment for his alleged involvement in the abduction of ABCI labourers.
The joint statement also said that any Kuki UG group � SoO signatory or non-signatory group, should abstain from interfering in Vaiphei villages.
Failure to comply with and any unwanted subsequent thereof would be strictly of their responsibility.
Demanding mutual respect from every civil and non-civil bodies, the joint statement said that they (UGs) should not dictate or legislate any Vaiphei areas so as to maintain peaceful coexistence and communal harmony.
None adherence will be taken as an aggression, it added.
Any Kuki UGs or civil bodies must abstain strictly from collecting funds and percentages from any Vaiphei villages, Govt or non-Govt employees posted in the Vaiphei villages, it read.
Entering Vaiphei villages with arms and ammunition and killing someone, civilian or UGs, at point blank range in front of family members so as to intimidate and terrorise is taken as a challenge to the family and villages in particular and the community in general.
Henceforth, such an act shall not be tolerated in future.
It also informed and directed all Vaiphei chiefs to refrain from paying any kind of funds demanded by any Kuki organizations.
