One-day farmers' training programme at Saranamei

A oneday farmers' training programme about rabi crops was held today at Saranamei community hall under Paomata block of Senapati district under he aegis of Agriculture Technology Management Agency, Senapati.
The programme was attended by SS Puniya as chief guest and Agriculture Technology Management Agency, Senapati project director M Gojendro as president.
SS Puniya said that productivity of rabi crops can be enhanced considerbly by using modern technology which would also mean increased income.
M Gojendro said that paddy productivity can be increased substantially if SRI method which has been successfully used in the valley is introduced in hill areas too.
He also called upon the farmers to cultivate best varieties of maize this rabi season like last year so as to augment their incomes.
Dr S Thoithoi, K Ibohal and SDAO Chaoba spoke at the training programme as resource persons explaining in detail on scientific methods of cultivating rabi crops and also the means and ways of protecting plants from diseases.
