Led by world champion MC Mary Kom, four pugilists of Manipur stormed into the last eight round of the 12th Senior Women National Boxing Championship currently underway at Bhopal.
While Mary Kom outclassed Sabana of Delhi by 22 points to six in her 51 kg class opening bout, Sh Sarjubala upset international boxer Sana Shree of Assam 28-12 for her second win of the competition to reach the quarter final in 48 kg division.

L Jamuna followed her State-mates to the quarter final round with a 22-13 victory over Nanao, who represented Nagaland in the 57 kg category.
The National Championships, which began yesterday, is considered as the melting pot of talent, for it provides a platform for current champions to reassert their dominance in the sport and for emerging boxers to display their skills and excel at the national arena.
The event, being organised by the Madhya Pradesh State Boxing Association under the aegis of Indian Boxing Federation assumes added importance with the 2012 AIBA Women's World Championship and the London Olympics fast approaching, and the fact that World Championships will be the only qualifying tournament for Women's boxing at the Olympics.
The event will serve as a selection ground to shortlist players constituting the final core group for the World Championships and the London Olympics camp beginning 23rd October in NIS Patiala.
