MoU with CCpur JAC likely on May 10

Imphal, May 05 2017:
The Churachandpur JAC constituted against three Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly for protection of indigenous people and subsequent death of nine persons in Churachandpur may sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Government on May 10 .
After the JAC had met Chief Minister N Biren for the third time, a public meeting was held today at YPA Hall.
The meeting was aimed at eliciting public opinions on the issue, informed a well placed source.
The JAC may hold another round of meeting with the Chief Minister on May 10 and an MoU may be signed on the same day.
In case any such MoU is signed, the bodies lying at Churachandpur district hospital morgue would be claimed and their last rites would be performed.
The State Government has already informed the Union Home Ministry about the proposed fourth meeting between the Churachandpur JAC and the Chief Minister.
Possibly, one official of the Union Home Ministry may also participate in the proposed meeting, conveyed the source.
