Imphal, January 09 2013:
Even as the State Cabinet has studied all the measures taken up by the Government to round up NSCN-IM's Lt Col Livingstone, representatives of Film Forum Manipur met Chief Minister O Ibobi today.
Sources informed that Chief Minister O Ibobi held a meeting with representatives of Film Forum Manipur after returning from Tousem this afternoon.
Later Ibobi convened a Cabinet meeting and deliberated on the measures taken up by the Government to round up Livingstone.
The emergency Cabinet meeting deliberated on making photographs of Livingstone available to people.
Notably, the State Government has already declared Livingstone as a wanted man.
The State Government has also asked the Union Home Ministry to nab and hand over Livingstone to them.
Film Forum Manipur president L Surjakanta said that their meeting with the Chief Minister was on the demands put forward by the forum to the State Government.
As highlighted through the memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, the main demands of the forum are punishment of all the accused involved in Chandel as well as Napetpalli incidents and closure of all designated camps of NSCN-IM located within the territory of Manipur.
The film forum representatives and the Chief Minister talked about what actions have been initiated regarding these demands, Surjakanta said.
The Government has been working hard to pull up Livingstone but is unsuccessful as of now, Surjakanta conveyed as stated by the Chief Minister.
Film Forum Manipur would not call of its movement.
Preparations have been made for public meeting and huge protest rally, Surjakanta added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ibobi would be leaving for New Delhi to meet Central leaders including Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and discuss about New Delhi's possible offer/package to NSCN-IM aimed at resolving the vexed Indo-Naga issue.
Even though sources, declined to comment whether the CM is heading to the national capital to attend the NE Business Summit that began from today, it is most likely that O Ibobi will be briefed by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on the possible outcome of the dialogue between the Centre and NSCN (IM) .
With the Central Government having declared its intention to find a solution to the vexed Naga issue ahead of the Nagaland assembly election scheduled in March this year, the central point of deliberation between Shinde and Ibobi will certainly figure the Naga issue, expressed the sources.
