Bullet ridden body

Imphal, January 09 2013:
An unidentified bullet ridden male dead body was found at Yairipok Changamdabi Loukon Wahengkhong under Yairipok PS in Imphal East district around 8.30am of January 7 .
Officer in-charge of Yairipok PS, Inspector P Ranbir Singh, in a statement informed that the man was suspected to be killed by armed miscreants in the intervening night of Jan 6 and Jan 7 .
Police have registered a case regarding the matter for investigation.
The body has been deposited at JNIMS mortuary, for identification and observing necessary legal formalities.
According to the police, the man is about 5.6 ft tall, aged around 30 years, thinly built body, fair complexion, with short and black hair.
He is believed to be a Meitei by religion.
The deceased wore pair of Burma hunting boots, black colour socks, black long pant, dark tanned jacket, woollen khaki full jersey and white T-shirt.
The corpse would be disposed off if no one comes forward to claim the body by 1pm of January 10, the police further informed.
