Imphal, January 09 2013:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has declared that all those schools and colleges which are not recognized by the Board, Council and other universities would be banned in the State from the coming academic session.
Addressing media persons at its office in Keishampat, President of DESAM Wangmayum Islauddin, said that a number of private institutions have crept up in the State as a consequence of the failure of the government run institutions.
However, a fairly large number of private institutions have been established in the state purely with business motive.
These institutions are not recognized by the Council or Boards.
As such, these institutions are the main reason for spoiling the career of many students.
They even misled students by taking the names of certain universities outside the State saying they are affiliated to them.
DESAM cannot remain silent when the lives of the students are at stake, he said, while appealing to all parents to shift their wards from such unrecognised educational institutions so as not to feel regret afterward.
