COVID-19 State records 1 fatality, 59 new cases; 221 discharged

Imphal, October 30 2021:
Manipur registered 59 new Covid positive cases in the last 24 hours as one more person succumbed to the contagion.
The deceased was unvaccinated.
According to a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room, 58 persons (28 male and 30 female) from the general population and one Central Armed Police Force personnel, of the total 1822 samples tested, were confirmed Covid positive at RIMS (5), JNIMS (8) and other testing centres (46) .
With this, the test positivity rate dropped to 3.2 percent against 4 percent reported on Friday.
The positive cases from the general population belong to Imphal East (15), Imphal West (28), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (3), Chandel (3), Churachandpur (1), Senapati (3), Kangpokpi (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Tamenglong (1), the release said.
In the meantime, one unvaccinated person from Imphal East died due to Covid taking the cumulative number of deaths in the State to 1920 .
Further, 48 persons who were in home isolation (10) and at RIMS (5), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (27) and another 173 cases which went unreported as recovered till date due to various reasons, were reported as discharged cases today.
As such, the total number of recovered cases is considered as 221 after reconciliation with reports from IDSP team, home isolation team, Community Home Isolation and Hospitalization team as on October 30, the release said.
With the new figures, the cumulative number of positive cases is 1,23,668 (General population-1,19,336 and Central Security Personnel- 4332) and cumulative number of recovered cases is 121040 (General Population- 116726 and Central Security Personnel- 4314).With 708 active cases including 13 Central security personnel, the recovery rate stands at 97.87 percent, it said.
The COVID-19 Common Control Room further informed that 750 D-type and 74 B-type Oxygen Cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State.
Vaccination rate touches 36.26 percent Meanwhile, 11943 doses of Covid vaccine were administered on October 29 taking the cumulative doses administered to 1950083 .
With it, the cumulative number of persons having received both doses of Covid vaccine has reached 702493, which amounts to 36.26 percent of the total eligible persons as on October 29 .
Among the districts, Jiribam remains on top in terms of number of second dose vaccination with 60.52 percent with Imphal West (54 percent) and Imphal East (46.90 percent) following suit.
Bishnupur (36.11), Churachandpur (37.33), Thoubal (31.56), Tengnoupal (30.46), Pherzawl (31.57) and Kakching (43.43) are among the districts which have crossed 30 percent second dose vaccination mark.
