Covid claims 2 more, 104 more cases detected

Imphal, February 16 2022:
Manipur recorded 2 deaths and 104 positive cases in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative figure of people who died due to the virus to 2088 and number of infected persons to 1,36,136 .
With no Central security personnel testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, the total number of positive cases from amongst the security personnel continues to be 4999 .
The two deceased persons were from Thoubal and Bishnupur, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
Both had co-morbidities and none of them were vaccinated.
The status of the 104 positive persons was confirmed during testing at RIMS (8), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (86) .
The 104 persons who tested positive for the virus are from Imphal East (24), Imphal West (30), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (4), Kangpokpi (5), Tamenglong (2), Ukhrul (4), Senapati (4), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur (4) .
With the addition of 104 four more cases, the cumulative number of infected persons has risen to 1,36,136 and the number of active cases is 2144 including 54 Central security personnel.
On the other hand, 136 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (102), RIMS (12), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (17) .
The recovery rate is 96.89 percent.
On February 15, 4144 Covid doses were administered to bring the cumulative number of doses administered to 26,41,958 including 11,00,982 second dose and 51,854 precautionary dose.
Till date 47.03 percent of the eligible population have received their second dose while 60.36 have received their first shot.
On February 15, 230 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 108 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres.
Out of 300 Covid beds available at RIMS, 254 beds are vacant while at JNIMS out of 190 beds, 112 beds are vacant.
