2 succumb, 18 test positive

The State's Covid-19 death toll has climbed to 1989 as two more individuals succumbed to the pandemic during the last 24 hours.
According to a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the two victims hailed from Imphal East district.
While one of them had received first dose of Covid vaccine, the other was not vaccinated at all.
On the other hand, 18 samples out of 1,481 tested during the last 24 hours were confirmed positive at RIMS (1), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (15) which puts the daily positivity rate at 1.2 per cent.
The 18 persons who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (3), Imphal West (11), Thoubal (1) and Kakching (3) .
Kakching district recorded the highest positivity rate at 9.4 per cent followed by Imphal West 2.5 per cent.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 32 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours following recovery from home isolation (15), RIMS (3), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (4) .
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,496 (general population 1,21,063 and Central security personnel 4,433).This figure includes 328 active cases (general population 323 and Central security personnel 5) and 1,23,179 recovered cases (general population 1,18,756 and Central security personnel 4,423).The recovery rate as on Saturday is 98.15 per cent.
A total of 397 D-type oxygen cylinders and 73 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
Taking into account 6948 doses administered yesterday, the total number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 22,28,237 (first dose 12,99,799 and second dose 9,28,438) .
In the meantime, 66.03 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine till December 10 while 47.17 per cent has received both the first and second doses.
