IW Super Divn Football League Tourney : YDO thump NC Club 3-0 as PAMYAL cruise to league title

Imphal, October 30 2021: PAMYAL, Patsoi were officially declared champions of the 21st S Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament organised by the Imphal West District Football Association at PAMYAL ground at Patsoi.

PAMYAL earned 12 points in 5 matches to secure the top honour and SKYC finished league runners up with 8 points, courtesy two wins and two draws in five matches.

The final league match of the tournament was played between YDO, Kwakeithel Lamdong and NC Club Khonghampat today.

It was a crucial match for YDO as losing or drawing the game would have sunk them into the relegation zone, but the team played valiantly to overwhelm the Khonghampat team 3-0 thanks to first half goals and survived the relegation threat.

S Johnson was first to find the target for YDO in the 33rd minute before H Dinesh doubled the advantage the next minute and Ch Vaiphei completed the scoring in the 36th minute.

With the only win of the tournament and two draws in the previous outings, YDO, Kwakeithel Lamdong finished fourth on 5 points while YWC, Langthabal which salvaged four draws, finished at the bottom in the league standings.
