Lamlai candidates to focus on agriculture sector
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, February 16 2022: INC candidate Achoibam Deben Singh of Lamlai assembly constituency in Imphal East district said he will be contesting the Assembly election to bring developmental changes in the constituency as majority of people in the constituency remains economically poor and deprived of government facilities.

Achoibam Deben Singh made this reply to the first of the three questions put up by The People's Chronicle to him in connection with the upcoming election.

The People's Chronicle put up a set of three questions to all the candidates of the constituency and the questions are; main reason for contesting election, the first work to be executed after getting elected and candidates vision for the state.

The INC candidate vowed to give special emphasis to improve conditions of farmers and free education to schools students.

Deben also said he will try to bring an end to unemployment problem, improving hill-valley relation and protect indigenous communities by systematic implementation of ILP system in the state.

In response to the same set of questions, JDU candidate Kshetrimyum Biren said his objective is to serve people and shoulder responsibility in making Manipur a leading state in the terms of development.

Along with stating that his priority will be transforming Lamlai AC into a model constituency Ksh Biren stressed the need to resolving major issues besetting the state and bring more development through proper resource mobilization.

According to BJP candidate Khongbantabam Ibomcha Singh, bringing good governance in Manipur will be the top priority.

He then said that improving economic conditions of the people will be his first task after getting elected and also vowed to improve agriculture and allied sectors by developing proper irrigation system.

On the third question, he replied that legislators have big role in the affairs of the state and major issues could be resolved when good representatives are elected.

Independent candidate Sapam Kangleipal, said that he decided to contest election as bringing development in a country depends on politics.

No one join politics to alter a system but to rectify errors in the system, he reasoned.

Kangleipal also said priority will be given towards helping the farmers adopt double cropping and promote harmony among the different communities.

In his response, RPI (Athawale) candidate Mongjam Poireihenba said decision to contest the polls is to proof that not all the elected representatives forget the people after election.

Improving economic condition of people of the constituency will be his priority by taking up double cropping system after developing proper irrigation facility, he said and promised to make functional all the government offices in Lamlai AC.

On the third question, Poireihenba said he wish to end shifting political parties by politicians and end corruption through a special policy to bring equality in the society.
