Ngamthang vows to work for people

Imphal, March 15 2022: Veteran politician and six times Saitu MLA Ngamthang Haokip, who lost the contest in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, has vowed to stand for the people all the time and extend all possible help in resolving problems of the people being a leader.

Despite the defeat in the just concluded election, Ngamthang Haokip, who contested on BJP ticket, organised a thanksgiving programme at his Sanjenthong quarter on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Ngamthang said that his political journey has completed 32 years and the hard work put in by his workers in the just concluded election would surely have been seen by the almighty God.

While urging people to pardon him if there were any mistake on his part during his 32 years political journey, Ngamthang Haokip said that he was disappointed for the defeat in this year's election but the almighty God will surely guide him in future.

He then thanked people who turned up to attend the thanksgiving programme.

Saikul MLA and Ngamthang Haokip's daughter Kimneo Hangshing Haokip, who also attended the programme, appealed to people of Saitu not to be disheartened of the defeat suffered by her father while maintaining that her success in the election was same for people of Saita AC.

She then promised to stand for the people of Saitu whenever there is any problem.

People who attended the thanksgiving programme also promised to stand with Ngamthang Haokip in his future political journey.
