MSU's Olympics kicks off at Chakremei

Senapati, December 27 2023:
Mao Students Union (MSU) Olympics 2023 in commemoration of its 90th anniversary commenced at Chowainamei Khunou (Chakremei) with the theme "Reigniting Oneness" on Wednesday.
The inaugural session was attended by Awangbow Newmai, minister Water Resources, Relief & Disaster Management, and Dr Lorho S Pfoze, MP Lok Sabha (Outer Manipur) as honoured guests and N Kayisii, MLA 49-Tadubi AC, L Dikho, MLA 48-Mao AC, and A Kapani, caretaker chairman ADC Senapati, as hosts.
The Olympics 2023 is hosted by Chakremei Students Union.
D Lorho S Pfoze during his speech emphasized the importance of love,.peace, and integrity in nation building.
He urged people to come together and re-envision to lead a vibrant life, especially in Manipur state, where fragmentation exists among tribes and races.
Minister Awangbow Newmai, on the other hand, praised the Mao community for their simplicity and honesty, describing them as the most advanced.
He also expressed hoped MSU would serve as an example for other communities.
N Kayisii, L Dikho, Eshuwo Krelo, convenor COC, Marikho O' Lenina, president MSU and Peter Yunuo, president SDSA also spoke at the event.
Awangbow Newmai unveiled the monolith and MSU president hoisted the MSU flag at the beginning of the event.
MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze declared the Olympic Games opened.
The Games will continue till December 31 .
The Olympic Games will feature various sports events such as football, volleyball, basketball, 100 meters & relay races, shot put, long jump, javelin throw, arm wrestling, badminton, table tennis, and wrestling.
