1st Chandel District Police Unit Wise Football League 2024 begins

Imphal, July 18 2024: The first Chandel District Police Unit Wise Football League 2024 with the theme "Say No to Drugs and Say Yes to Life" began on Thursday at Thoruwl Turf, Liwa Khullen Sarei, Chandel.

The League was declared open by SP Chandel Pandey Hemant in the presence of Shankerjit Singh Loitongbam, Addl SP LO Chandel, and TS Chamna Anal, Addl SP Ops Chandel.

10 teams consisting of SP Office, SP Escorts, Addl SP LO Escorts, Addl SP Ops Escorts, CDL PS, CKG PS, Molcham PS, Traffic Police & Micro Guard, ADC Office Guard, and Reserve Line teams are competing in the tournament, which will run for about 3/4 months without effecting their normal routine duties.

Through the League, the organisers also hope to send messages to the general public, particularly the youngsters, encouraging them to avoid drugs to change their lives and build a better society.

In the opening match, SP Office beat SP Escort by a 9-6 margin while the second match between ASP (LO) team and ADC/TRAFFIC/MICRO team ended in a 1-1 draw.
