NAPSA, YWC ease into T20 cricket semis

Imphal, March 12 2024:
NAPSA (Kha-Imphal) and YWC (Langthabal) stormed into the semifinals of the 1st Khomdram Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament on Tuesday.
NAPSA inflicted a nine-wicket thrashing on KCC (Kongba) in their quarterfinal match at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal West.
Put in to bat, KCC were 133/5 as Iqbal top-scored with 51 not out and Sanjoy was unbeaten on 24, with support from Robertson (15), Jiran (14) and Devkanta (11) .
Simon and John scalped two wickets each while Premananda took one for NAPSA.
In reply, NAPSA completed the chase in 17 overs, losing just one wicket.
Somorendro anchored the chase with a gritty 72 not out, and Simon (45 not out) provided valuable support to help the Kha-Imphal team seal a commanding win on their way to the semifinals.
YWC (Langthabal), on the other hand, booked their place in the semifinals with a 59-run victory against LCCC (Lilong Chajing) .
YWC made 147/5 afterbeing asked to bat.
Sasi (29), Basu (26), Biska (23 not out), Prakashmani (22), Gojendro (21), Kumarjit (13) and Samananda (6 not out) all contributed to their total.
The Langthabal side then bowled well to bundle out LCCC for 88 in 17.1 overs as Kuamrjit led the scalping with four wickets, Tejkumar and Samananda picked up two each, and Prakashmani and Sasi took one apiece in their team's quarterfinal triumph.
Gulshannanda (36) was the lone bright spot in LCCC's run chase.
Earlier, Ashok, Krishna and Sanjit each got a wicket for the Lilong Chajing squad.
