Pambei-led UNLF condoles

The Pambei-led UNLF and its armed wing MPA have condoled the demise of its Captain Lourembam Thangjing alias Naobi.
Captain Thangjing died due to an illness at around 10.41 am on March 11 after undergoing treatment for some days in a hospital, according to a statement issued by the outfit's Media Coordinator Charairongba Thokchom.
Captain Thangjing alias Naobi was born to late Lourembam Merajao and late Leikham on January 1, 1971 at Kanto Sabal, Leimakhong.
He joined the party in 1999.After completing basic military training, he joined the ranks of MPA in 2000 and took part in many battles fought against Indian military forces and reactionaries, it said.
He worked at the 242 Bn till February 2, 2006 before serving at the Ghqs till January 2, 2008 .
After serving at the 292 Bn till February 2, 2009, Captain Thangjing was posted as a post of BPMA.
He became a staff officer of H&FW department in 2020.Captain Thangjing diligently discharged all the responsibilities and duties entrusted to him by the party till his last breath, the outfit said.
Acknowledging his contributions, Lourembam Thangjing was promoted several times by the Ghqs and the MAC.
From Sergeant Major, he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on February 9, 2015.He became a Lieutenant on November 24, 2019 before he was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2021 .
Captain Thangjing who usually spoke very little, was a freedom fighter and a revolutionary dedicated to his duties, the outfit.
His sudden demise is an irreparable loss for the party, it said.
The outfit and its armed wing also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family.
It also prayed that the lifeless body of Captain Lourembam Thangjing alias Naobi may rest in peace on the soil of Manipur.
