Thoubal joins World Glaucoma Day observance

Thoubal, March 12 2024:
Thoubal district joined observance of 'World Glaucoma Day', being held from March 10 till March 16 with the aim to eradicate the disease which is second most common cause of blindness in the world, by promoting early detection.
The observance organised by National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment Unit, Thoubal along with Eye Department of District hospital, Thoubal at the conference hall of the Hospital was attended by Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subash as chief guest, chief medical officer Y Nokul as president and District Hospital medical superintendent W Ruhini Kumar as guest of honour.
The observance, also participated by staff members and officials of the district hospital, had Hospital's eye specialist Birbala deliberating on importance of the 'World Glaucoma Day' observance as DC Subash spoke on theme of the year 'Uniting for a Glaucoma Free World' .
